FAQ

Questions Business Owners Usually Ask First

Clear answers without pressure.

Basics

What does BS Accounting stand for?

BS Accounting stands for Bank Statement Accounting.

Is this software, service, or both?

BS Accounting is being built as both a workflow system and a practical accounting service layer. It can support clients who want to do work themselves, get help when needed, or have more of the work handled.

Do I have to leave my current accounting software?

No. BS Accounting is positioned to work with your current accounting software first. The goal is to help you see the cleanup, workflow, and clarity before deciding whether to move more fully into BS Accounting later.

Is BS Accounting only for QuickBooks?

No. The language and workflow should stay broader than QuickBooks. BS Accounting should match items already in your current accounting software.

Cleanup and Workflow

What if my books are behind?

You do not need perfect books to start. Cleanup is one of the main reasons BS Accounting exists.

What does transaction-level chat mean?

It means questions and answers stay attached to the exact transaction being discussed, instead of getting lost in email, texts, or separate notes.

Can I do some of the work myself?

Yes. BS Accounting is designed for flexible help levels: DIY, A Little Help, and Consider It Done.

What happens if I forget to handle something?

The system direction is to make stale items visible so work can move back into a queue instead of being forgotten.

Data and Ownership

What does “Always your data” mean?

Your accounting records should be understandable, exportable, reviewable, and usable. Clean books should survive software changes.

Can BS Accounting become my full accounting system later?

That is the long-term direction. BS Accounting can start with cleanup while working with your current accounting software, then grow into a fuller accounting system as the product expands.

Can vendors send invoices directly to BS Accounting?

The planned client inbox feature allows each client to have a unique BS Accounting email inbox, such as client-slug@bsaccounting.com, where vendors can send invoices and receipts for capture and review.
